Nachdem das Website-Team seit März an unserer neuen Website gearbeitet hat, konnten der Teamleiter Tom Teichler (13 Jahre) sowie Jakub Vladik (ebenfalls 13 Jahre) und Nik in den letzten beiden Tagen unsere neue Website fertigstellen.

Bei unserem Workday am 18. März 2017 haben wir in einem Workshop gemeinsam über die Ziele des Vereins und ihre Prioritäten beraten. Wir wollten feststellen, nach welchen gemeinsamen Ideen wir unsere Vereinsarbeit in Zukunft ausrichten und in welche Ziele wir die meisten Resourcen investieren. Die einzelnen Vereinsziele und was damit gemeint ist möchten wir heute kurz vorstellen.
Unsere Mitglieder haben abgestimmt, dass die Verbreitung von freier Software an Schulen sowie die Verbreitung von freiem Unterrichtsmaterial zu unseren Workshopthemen oberste Priorität haben sollen. Das bedeutet für unsere Arbeit nun z.B., dass wir, auch bei der Vorbereitung von Workshops für Ferienfreizeiten und ähnlichen Aktivitäten, großen Wert auf die Wiederverwendbarkeit des Materials legen werden. Außerdem richten wir alle unsere Entwicklungen im Bereich freier Software auf Wiederverwendbarkeit aus, helfen Projekten, die freie Software für die Bildung entwickeln und tragen Empfehlungen und Erfahrungen damit an Schulen und andere heran.
Als zweite Priorität wollen wir Kindern und Jugendlichen eine Online-Plattform zum Austausch über Projekte und zur Nutzung freier Software anbieten. Hierzu gehört auch unser E-Mail- und Jabber-Dienst für Kinder und einiges mehr, das nun zu planen ist.
Wie gehabt wollten wir auch weiterhin Ferien- und Wochenendfreizeiten sowie Nachmittagstreffen anbieten, bei denen sich Kinder und Jugendliche mit Informatik, Naturwissenschaften und freier Software beschäftigen. In Zukunft werden wir hierbei aber ein größeres Augenmerk auf Nachhaltigkeit legen, was Materialien und Folgeprojekte angeht (s.o.).
Alle oben genannten Ziele wollen wir bei Veranstaltungen wie Messen und Konferenzen aktiv präsentieren und für die Sichtbarkeit von freier Software in der Bildung sorgen.
unser Verein veranstaltet nicht nur Freizeiten und andere Angebote in den Bereichen Naturwissenschaft und Technik, sondern hat es sich auch zur Aufgabe gemacht, Kinder, Jugendliche und Eltern über die Themen Datenschutz, Privatsphäre im Internet, Folgen der Einwilligung in Lizenzen und AGBs von Spielen und Online-Diensten uvm. zu informieren und für die Verständlichkeit derartiger Einwilligungen zu sorgen.
In den USA wurde kürzlich das neue Spiel „Pokémon GO“ für Smartphones veröffentlicht. Hierbei handelt es sich um eine Weiterentwicklung der bekannten Pokémon-Rihe des japanischen Spieleherstellers Nintendo zu einem so genannten „Augmented Reality“-Spiel, d.h. einem Spiel, das mit Hilfe des Smartphones Realität (z.B. Kamerabilder) und die Spielinhalte (z.B. dreidimensionale Pokémon) vermischt.
„Pokémon GO“ wird von der Firma Niantic Labs, Inc. entwickelt und betrieben, einer ehemaligen Tochter der Alphabet, Inc.—besser bekannt als der Google-Konzern. Google hält noch immer umfangreiche Anteile an der Firma, deren Geschäftsführer ein ehemaliger Google-Vizepräsident ist.
Der Start des Spiels ist nun auch in Deutschland erfolgt, einige Benutzer hatten bereits länger Zugriff auf das Spiel erhalten. Sollte sich der sofortige Erfolg des Spiels, wie er momentan in den USA zu sehen ist, hier ebenso deutlich zeigen, wird ein Großteil der Jugendlichen mit Smartphone sowie viele Erwachsene schon bald (erneut) der Pokémon-Sucht verfallen.
