Am 28.3. waren <a href="https://www.teckids.org/people.htm#erottsieper"> Enrico </a> , <a href="https://www.teckids.org/people.htm#sbruder"> Simon </a> und <a href="https://www.teckids.org/people.htm#jtobisch"> Johannes </a> mit <a href="https://www.teckids.org/people.htm#nbildhauer"> Niklas </a> und <a href="https://www.teckids.org/people.htm#nik"> Nik </a> zu Gast bei der <a href="http://www.ossanschulen.ch/weiterbildungstagung/2015/"> Weiterbildungstagung Open Source Software an Schulen </a> in Zürich.
On March 28th, Enrico, Simon, Johannes, Niklas and Nik attended the conference "Open Source Software an Schulen" (Open Source Software in schools) in Zurich, Switzerland.

Ursprünglich waren wir aufgrund der <a href="https://www.teckids.org/permalinks/news_f12-nik.htm"> LPIC-Prüfung von Simon Bruder </a> eingeladen worden, um den Verein vorzustellen. Dann kam aber auch noch ein Freedroidz-Workshop für Kinder hinzu, den Enrico Rottsieper (12 Jahre) als seinen ersten eigenen Workshop sehr erfolgreich leitete.
We had initially been invited to present our association after Simon Bruder took his LPIC examination. Later, a Freedroidz workshop for children was added to this. It marked the debut for Enrico Rottsieper (aged 12) who successfully led his first own workshop.

Beide Programmpunkte stießen bei den Besuchern der Tagung auf sehr großes Interesse. Das <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WE6coBdQfk"> Video unserer Vorstellung „Warum Kinder eine Open Source-Community brauchen“ </a> stellt den Verein sehr gut und informativ dar, besonders dank der hervorragenden Präsentation der Juniormitglieder.
Both points created interest with the conference visitors. The video of our presentation <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WE6coBdQfk"> "Why children need an Open Source community"</a> presents the association in a very informative way and includes insights by junior members.

Wir sind nun auf der Suche nach einem Serversystem ähnlicher Spezifikationen. Es muss sich hierbei nicht zwingend um Serverhardware handeln, auch qualitativ hochwertige PC-Hardware ist ausreichend. Wichtig sind dabei robuste Festplatten für den 24/7-Betrieb (nicht von SEAGATE). Die Hardware muss überdies nicht zwingend neu sein, sollte allerdings keine bekannten oder abzusehenden Mängel aufweisen.

Auf dem Serversystem betreiben wir neben unserer Website viele wichtige Dienste für die Kinder- und Jugendarbeit, darunter das E-Mail-System für Kinder und Jugendliche, einen Terminalserver für Selbstlernprojekte von zu Hause und einen Fileserver zur Synchronisation der Workshopserver.
