In den ersten Märztagen, am Karnevalswochenende, kam es leider zu einem längeren Ausfall unserer Dienste. Am Samstagmorgen wurde unsere zentrale Infrastruktur aus noch unklaren Gründen neugestartet. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt waren alle Systemadministratoren verreist und hatten keinen Zugriff auf die offline abgelegten Schlüssel für die Entschlüsselung der Nutzerdaten.
Wir werden in der Folge unsere Notfallpläen überarbeiten und, neben der Sicherheit aller Daten, auch das Passwortkonzept überarbeiten, um auch in Feriensituationen schnell eingreifen zu können.
WIr entschuldigen uns für entstandene Unannehmlichkeiten. Unseren Erkenntnissen nach bestand zu keinem Zeitpunkt eine unmittelbare Gefahr für die Bevölkerung und die Umgebung.
Im Frühjahr 2018 führte der Teckids e.V. eine Umfrage zum Thema „Nutzungs von sozialen Medien“ unter 574 Schülerinnen und Schülern durch. Die Umfrage wurde von Niels Hradek (13 Jahre) und Philipp Stahl (14 Jahre ) gestaltet, von vielen Kindern und Jugendlichen in ihren Schulen und Klassen durchgeführt und hauptverantwortlich von Tim Valentin (11 Jahre) ausgewertet.
Das folgende Dokument enthält die zahlenmäßige Auswertung der Umfrage zu den einzelnen Fragen, außerdem kann der Fragebogen hier eingesehen werden. Fragen zu den Daten bzw. Anfragen nach den Rohdaten für weitergehende Auswertungen nehmen wir per E-Mail an.

Die Ziele dieser Umfrage waren, zu wissen welche Dienste benutzt werden, wozu Instant Messaging und soziale Netzwerke benutzt werden, ob die Nutzungsbedingungen der Dienste bekannt sind, ob es die Teilnehmer interessiert, was mit ihren Daten passiert, wer oder was sie zu diesen Diensten gebracht hat und ob sie sich dafür interessieren, die Dienste, die sie benutzen, mitzugestalten.
An der Umfrage nahmen 574 Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer von Gymnasien, Realschulen und Sekundarschulen teil. Am meisten nahmen Lernende aus der 7. oder 8. Klasse (54%) an der Umfrage teil. Wenige von den Teilnehmern waren in der 4. bis 6. Klasse (24%) und wenige waren in der 9. oder 10. Klasse bzw. in der Sekundarstufe 2 (10%).
Die Umfrage ist leider wissenschaftlich gesehen nicht repräsentativ, da 86% der Teilnehmer aufs Gymnasium gehen und man deshalb die drei Schularten(Gymnasium 86%, Realschule 10% und Sekundarschule (4%) nicht direkt miteinander vergleichen kann. Jedoch führt die Betrachtung einzelner Untergruppen der Stichprobe zu identischen Ergebnissen, weshalb eine Repräsentativität der Ergebnisse realistisch angenommen werden kann.
Nach der Auswertung unserer Umfrage benutzten fast alle der Schülerinnen und Schüler WhatsApp (94%) und YouTube (91%). Aber es wurden auch häufig Instagram (57%), Musical.ly (25%) und Snapchat (56%) benutzt. Dieses Ergebnis ist ähnlich wie bei anderen Umfragen, die wir uns vorher anschauten: Trotz des mangelhaften Datenschutzes ist WhatsApp noch immer der am meisten genutzte Messenger-Dienst.
Viele benutzen Instant Messaging und soziale Netzwerke, um in Kontakt zu bleiben und um Informationen für die Schule zu erhalten. Die meisten haben die Nutzungsbedingungen nur überflogen, einem Drittel der Befragten war es nicht wichtig, diese aufmerksam zu lesen. Das ist nicht so gut, da man sich genau informieren sollte, welche persönlichen Daten von einem wie verwendet werden. Die große Mehrheit der Befragten findet es aber trotzdem schlecht, dass ihre Daten gezielt gesammelt, dann analysiert und später verkauft oder sonst wie weiterverwendet werden.
Viele Kinder wurden von Freunden oder Mitschülern dazu gebracht, diese Dienste zu nutzen. Eltern haben ebenfalls einen großen Einfluss auf die Wahl und Nutzung von sozialen Medien, die Schule scheint eher die Nutzung des in der Lerngruppe verbreitetsten Messengers zu fördern.
Wichtig ist für sie, dass sie schnell und einfach mit ihren Freunden chatten können. Es werden sehr häufig private Textnachrichten, Fotonachrichten, Sprachnachrichten, und gelegentlich Sprach- und Videoanrufe benutzt. Hingegen werden öffentliche Status-Posts und öffentlich gepostete Fotos immer seltener.
